A Contract with the Ministry of Water and the Environment in Uganda for the supply of sewage suction and jetting trucks/equipment for the Lake Victoria Water Supply and Sanitation Program (Phase II). The project follows the first successful phase, with the new one focusing on 15 target towns within the Lake Victoria Basin, to improve the quality of water and disposal of waste in the areas.
The four (4) Iveco Trakker 4×2 chassis’ used for the project were sourced directly from the factory in Italy, before being shipped to the UK for the fitting of a 7500 Litre cesspit emptying and jetting superstructure (6000L sludge and 1500L clean water). A further five (5) self-propelled vacutugs with a capacity of 700L were also supplied as part of the contract, designed for operation and movement by a single person.
The trucks and vacutugs were also supplied with uniforms (sourced locally in Uganda) for workers as well as spare parts for a years’ operation.
The units were then shipped to Uganda from the UK and Bangladesh where final inspections, commissioning and training were performed. The equipment is destined for Ntungamo Municipality and will be distributed between the townships of Mayuge, Buwama, Kayabwe and Bukakata.
