Through the European Union funded Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) Programme in Turkey, Unit Export was contracted to supply various types of waste containers to the Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation.
The containers were sourced from a local Turkish Manufacturer and then shipped to the Municipality of Çorum where they will be used as part of a solid waste management programme which aims to drastically improve the way the Municipality deals with their waste output.
The contracted supply supplied consisted of:
- 24m3 Hydraulic Press Containers – 13 units
- 24m3 Open Top Hook-Lift Containers – 7 units
- 24m3 Closed Top Hook-Lift Containers – 2 units
- 30m3 Open Top Hook-Lift Containers – 17 units
- 30m3 Closed Top Hook-Lift Containers – 2 units
All containers were designed and built according to CE standards as well as the international DIN 30722 standard to ensure that they were compatible with the hook-lift trucks used by the Municipality.
With representatives from the EU, manufacturer and Unit Export present at site, the project then completed an inspection and testing of the units to confirm they complied to the specifications outlined as well as training of local staff. Minor adjustments on both types of containers were then made after some operational observations from the project before all goods were accepted.
