As part of the ‘Recovery of Coastal Livelihoods’ project in Sudan financed by the Canadian Government and United Nations Development Organisation, Unit Export was contracted to supply and deliver two fibreglass fishing vessels with inboard IVECO marine engines.

The goal of the project is to improve local development of the coastal population of the Red Sea State in Sudan through income and livelihoods developments within the communities by sustainable production and marketing of fisheries. The vessels were built on the island of Malta and subsequently shipped to Port Sudan on flat rack containers where they were unloaded in the presence of Unit Export staff and subsequent training for local fishermen took place. The vessels will be used to teach fishermen on modern fishing techniques.
